La segunda canción de este mes, y recuperamos nuestro ritmo habitual, es esta joyita de Nerf Herder (¡”Party like it’s 1996!!” es el eslogan del año!) llamada Pantera Fans in Love. Descubrí a estos chavalotes por casualidad, deambulando por esas webs de dios, y quedé instantáneamente prendado de la letra (ya sólo el lema “We’re gonna put an end to alternative rock / We’ll find a way to make the Cranberries stop” vale por todo el tema). Es curioso cómo los grupos de hardcore-pop herederos (¡ya tienen herederos!) de Blink 182 y compañía no ocultan unas descaradas raíces jivis. Sum 41 son los que lo hacen más evidente, con unos punteos en los cambios de ritmo que ya los querrían para sí algunas bandas de hair rock ochentero. Pantera fans in love (continuación de la también fabulosa Van Halen) aparece en el disco How to Meet Girls y sí, hay otras joyas de similar calibre, como esta.
